CFCA- Trichy Project continued to be a time of further experimentation, learning and developing. The challenges encountered during the year incited the project to drive itself as far as possible, end up creative and develop with new bits of knowledge and actions. The project team confronted numerous circumstances where we were tested to change, alter or reproduce the methodology to work with our sponsored families.
Thus the staff team were additionally equipped with new skills and capabilities accomplished the planned activities guided by its 9 ‘Hope for the family’ goals to bring out the expected outcomes for the sponsored families with better strategy and techniques.
There are 9 zones and 48 sub projects in Trichy project.
Child sponsorship is the primary activity of the project with the aim of providing a long term financial support and accordingly builds up a meaningful relationship with our supported families. The regular activities of this program incorporate enlisting the deserving children in the sponsorship program, letters and photographs correspondence, payment of monthly financial support to the beneficiaries, accounts, visiting homes and following up retirements. This year under the sponsorship program, Trichy Project supports the lives of 6022 children and youth and 275 senior citizens by giving the financial support to meet out their educational, medical and other family needs. Because of the effective follow up, the project continued zero non-compliance retirement in the year. As letter writing is the regular activity of the project supporting the communication between the sponsor and children on regular basis, 10 letter orientation camps as a part of summer camp activities were conducted to 1880 children from 29 sub-projects of all zones to strengthen their letter writing skills.
