The goal of International Women’s Day is to celebrate women’s accomplishments and to advocate for gender equality. This day also aims to raise awareness about gender equality so that our society’s most vulnerable members have equal rights in all fields, promoting equal participation in social, economic, cultural, and political activities.
The theme of this year’s women’s day was “DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality”. It is aligned with the priority theme for the upcoming 67th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW-67), i.e. “Innovation and technological change, and education in the digital age for achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls”. With this theme, the Office of the District Magistrate of South and South West District of Delhi organized a women’s day celebration on 6th March, 2023 at Deen Dayal Upadhyay Auditorium, Sec-3, Dwarka. Various songs and dances were performed on this occasion which was focussed on girl child issues, such as early marriages, female foeticide etc. CFCA also got a chance to be a part of this great event. Around 10-12 mothers from Pochanpur Village Sub-Project DPP participated in this event. Mr. V.K. Dass, Managing Trustee CFCA was also invited in this event.
Mr. Dass was given a warm welcome and was also asked to share his thoughts. The whole day was a memorable event, which also helped CFCA in knowing about various other Non- Profits who are working in and around Delhi for the upliftment of society. The participants were very happy to be a part of such a renowned event.
