Ankit Pal

This is a story of Ankit, who started playing table tennis when he was in 4 th standard. His love for sport has helped him in achieving great heights. He always dreamt of doing something big with his passion for tennis. Despite having all the hardships and not having a constant support from the family, for the first time he marked his place in inter-school table tennis championship where he won an award and stood at 1 st place.
Ankit has been a part of CFCA family for a long time now. Currently, he is pursuing his schooling and he is in 10 th standard at present. Ankit lives in a family consisting of 4 members including his mother, father, and elder brother. He comes from a poverty-stricken family. His father owns a small shop of general merchandise to meet the basic needs of the family and his mother is a home-maker. Avi, Ankit’s brother is also pursuing his schooling and he is also a sports enthusiast.
For a very long time, Ankit’s parents have not been supportive towards their children’s passion of playing sports. Under the influence of the community people and some of the relatives, they started busting in that there will be no career in this field. Rather than wasting the time in playing sports they should be focused and concerned about their studies.
Despite all the odds, Ankit continued to play tennis. Ankit and his parents have been an active part of CFCA community programs. Through the continuous interaction with other sponsored family and children they got to know about another sponsored child Deeksha Dhruvansh, who is also transforming herself dedicatedly and winning awards in sports field with the continuous support of CFCA and her parents.
Since that day, Ankit could see the change in his parents as they started to support him and his brother. They understood that sports can also be a vital aspect where one can mark his place to achieve whatever he wants. With the uninterrupted support and motivation from CFCA, his parents gathered all the needed information related to Table tennis and how Ankit can strengthen his game.
Ankit’s father has no fixed income, still they decided to put all the efforts to support him in sports field. They started doing whatever they can from their end to make their children’s future promising. Now, Ankit and his brother are winning awards in sports field with continuous education.
Till now Ankit has won many awards in table tennis championship. In 2017, he played in Allahabad at the district level and marked his place at 1 st position with an award. In 2018, he got a chance to play in Noida, Kanpur, Aligarh, and Varanasi at the state level championship where he stood at 2 nd and 3 rd position. After that he also got selected in a national level championship. In 2019, he won first prize in a champion ship which took place in Bijnor. In
Jan 2020, he played at state level in Aligarh and once again marked his place at 2 nd position.
The story of his victories has never stopped from the day his parents started supporting him and he is continuously making his parents and sponsor feel proud. The family shows gratitude to the CFCA/UNBOUND for their generous support.
